We’re down to just 16 sci-fi movies. Star Trek is gone and Star Wars is down to just three — the original trilogy!
I really did seed the bracket in the order of my list of Best Sci-Fi Movies of All Time. Well, except for adding a few that were a little lower on the list. But I kept them in order. So it really is coincidence that the three remaining Star Wars movies are in three different divisions.
And there were a couple close matchups in the last round:
- Dune (2021) beat Terminator 2 by 4 votes
- Ghostbusters beat Young Frankenstein by 5 votes
- The Matrix beat Independence Day by 7 votes
The movies that have had the strongest showing in every round so far are: Star Wars #4 A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back (#5), Back to the Future, E.T., Alien, Men in Black, Jurassic Park, and Spaceballs.
Vote now in Round Five!
The deadline is Sunday, October 16.
