There was only one close one and that’s because so many people have been voting for all the women. In my mind, Blackbeard, the most famous pirate of all, shouldn’t have only beaten Grace O’Malley by 3 votes. But that’s what happened. And now he faces off against Mary Read.
And it was no surprise, I predicted it, but Jack Sparrow beat Captain Barbossa, even though I think that Barbossa was the quintessential pirate and actually succeeded as a pirate, then as a privateer and a pirate again. But we HAVE heard of Jack Sparrow. 😀
