This bracket is rather unique. Everything we’re voting on doesn’t exist anymore. And, apart from the dinosaurs included in the Jurassic Park movies, many people don’t know too many of them.
I’ve grouped them in brackets by their biological type. Saurischia (lizard-hipped) are on one side and Ornithiscia (bird-hipped) are on the other. Within the Saurischia are Theropods (beast-footed) and Sauropods (lizard-footed). Within the Ornithiscia are Cerapods (horned or thick-headed) and Thyreophora (armored). I’ve tried to find the best pictures based on the latest awareness and discoveries, and to rank them within each division based on general popularity and familiarity.
Pterosaurs are technically not dinosaurs, nor are mososaurs, ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, etc. Dinosaurs are part of the biological order (or superorder) dinosauria. These other creatures will be included in a future voting topic: Extinct Animals That Aren’t Dinosaurs. 🙂
Vote now in Round One! The deadline is Tuesday evening, March 23.
