Favorite Kaiju Monsters – Round One

Our next Voting Bracket topic is Favorite Kaiju Monsters.

While “kaiju” can technically refer to any bizarre creature, in modern usage it is most commonly associated with giant monsters featured in Japanese tokusatsu (special effects) films and other media.

The term gained widespread popularity through the Godzilla franchise, created by director Ishirō Honda and special effects director Eiji Tsuburaya, with the 1954 film Godzilla often regarded as the first kaiju movie.

These monsters are typically depicted as enormous, often skyscraper-sized, and are frequently shown attacking major cities, battling military forces, or engaging in combat with other kaiju or giant robots (mecha).
